Project Overview:
The client approached me with a requirement for a professional tech business website to represent their brand and services online. They wanted a modern, user-friendly, and responsive website that would cater to both desktop and mobile users, providing essential business information and generating leads through service inquiries.
Discovery and Planning: The first step in this project was a discovery phase. I met with the client to fully understand their needs, goals, and target audience. Based on this, we created a detailed sitemap, listing the main sections of the website, such as:
Home
About Us
Services
Shop page
Contact Us
Blog (optional)
We also discussed the overall look and feel the client wanted, such as colour schemes, typography, and any specific design preferences.
Design and Development:
Once the planning phase was complete, I moved into the design and development stage. Here’s a breakdown of the process:
Theme Selection & Customization:
Using WordPress as the CMS, I selected a lightweight, SEO-friendly theme that best fits the client’s requirements. I customized the theme, ensuring it aligned with the brand identity, including the logo, colour scheme, and typography.
Page Layouts & Structure: Each page was structured to serve a clear purpose:
Homepage:
Showcased the business’s unique selling points (USPs) with a clean hero section, clear calls-to-action (CTAs), and a brief overview of services.
Services Page:
A detailed list of services offered, including descriptions and imagery.
Shop Page:
Displayed shop page with high-quality images to showcase the client’s products.
Contact Page:
Integrated with a contact form and Google Maps for easy location tracking. .
Responsive Design:
With mobile traffic in mind, I ensured the website was fully responsive. This involved adjusting layouts, images, and navigation menus to work seamlessly on different devices and screen sizes.
SEO Optimization:
SEO was a crucial aspect of the project. I optimized the website for search engines by:
Creating SEO-friendly URLs, meta titles, and descriptions. Using alt tags for images. Ensuring fast loading speeds with optimized images and code. Installing an SEO plugin to monitor and improve on-page SEO.
Plugins & Functionality:
I integrated various plugins to add necessary features:
Contact Form 7: For an easy-to-use and customizable contact form.
Rank Math SEO:
To help with ongoing SEO efforts. Elementor/Elementor Pro: This is for page-building flexibility, allowing the client to make content updates with ease.
Smush: To optimize images and ensure quick loading times. Content Creation & Population: Once the design was in place, I worked with the client to write and populate content. I ensured the content was clear, concise, and tailored to the client’s target audience.
Testing and Launch:
Before launching, I conducted thorough testing across different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and devices (desktop, tablet, mobile) to ensure the website looked and functioned perfectly.
Once testing was complete, we went live with the website. I provided the client with training on how to manage content and make small changes using the WordPress dashboard, ensuring they could maintain the site post-launch.
Post-Launch Support:
After the launch, I continued to offer support by monitoring the site’s performance, fixing any bugs, and ensuring the site remained secure with regular upd
